Dazzling fireworks countdown @ Taipei 101

Taipei 101 is the iconic the skyscraper in Taiwan’s capital, I heard so much of their amazing fireworks before and finally I got the chance to see it myself. The show was about 6 minutes plus but really spectacular!!!! T.T It made my 2019 New Year Eve the most memorable one in my life. If you stay at Taipei during the New Year Eve, don't miss the chance to watch the magnificent fireworks show in Taipei 101.

Well, the streets are sooooo crowded.  You must get ready for crowds though because hundred thousands of people will be out on that night. But if you want to avoid the crowd lining up in front of Taipei 101, you may consider stay at the 5-stars hotel Grand Hyatt Taipei ( 台北君悦酒店 ). The hotel just located right next to Taipei 101 and has an unobstructed view of Taipei 101.

Another great viewing platform is Elephant Mountain Hiking Trail ( 象山步道 ) which is free and open to all visitors. But the trail can get relatively crowded too. You can  take Taipei MRT ( Xinyi Line ), alight at Xiangshan Station and leave at no. 2 exit. Just ontinue walking alongside the edge of the park, turn left and go straight, You will come across a temple, then you will see the entrance for Xiangshan hiking trail. 

Besides the fireworks, the countdown party feature the on-stage appearance of a lot of celebrities on other side of Taipei 101.

We got a spot in front of Taipei 101 and watched the fireworks bursting from the building. The pictures were blurry as it was raining + plenty of smoke from the fireworks.

Crowds of people heading home after the countdown,  it gets reallyyy crowded at MRT station. Luckily our hotel room just a distance walk from 101 world trade centre =D 

This is my first time seeing such a beautiful firework and I wish this year 2019 will be as dazzling as the fireworks! XOXO

I love travelling but I hate flying!

Although I make in average about 3-4 trips each year but I am still not comfortable with flying because I get a reallyyy bad migraine 20 minutes before landing due to the cabin pressure changes..There are a lot of preventive migraine medications such as Panadol active fast but I NEVER took it! Hurmm... I rarely take Panadol because it harms the liver. According to the doctor, Panadol will reside in the body for at least 5 years!! Btw I had once a scary experience landing in a storm. Really freaking me out! I thought my plane was going to crash atm =.=

Santorini Park was the reason which brought me to Hua Hin and yeah...the location may not be so accessible if you are looking for public transport. So if you are travelling with family or friends, I suggest you rent a van or sign a package with a travel agent. The benefit is you just have to limit your visit time and no need worry about the transport. The package for Hua Hin one day trip is 4000baht for 12 hours. An extra charge of 200baht per hour is imposed if you add time. Ferris Wheel, the landmark of Santorini Park

They separate the water park from the amusement park. Not sure how much was the entrance fee for water park but the entrance fee for main park is 150baht for each person and doesn't include ferris wheel ride nor activities. It wasn't too crowded and we spent approximately 2 hours plus here and had an amazing time exploring the lil streets and shops. It really makes me feel like I'm in Greece lol! Lots of photo opportunities around the park tho! There are some international brand shops ( eg: Converse, Puma, Nike, Adidas etc...) and we bought a couple tee from Marvel shop =D 

We eat every 3-4 hours. p/s: to keep us full, focused, and keep our blood sugar balanced so we have more energy to walk XD The ice cream melts quickly because of the hot weather,

We go there on a weekday so the crowd wasn't that bad but the hot weather really bit unbearable. *Tips : bring sunblock, cap, umbrella or whatever that can shield you from the sun because the weather was extremelyyy hot!!

The Venice of Thailand

I'm impressed with the pictures posted by bloggers and I wanted to visit this place so badly and ... I finally got the chance to visit here, The Venezia, Hua Hin. So called The Venice of Thailand. It's about two and half hour drive from Bangkok. The Venezia is the newest themed shopping and attraction village in Hua Hin. The concept of The Venezia is simple: instead of building a boring shopping plaza with rows of anonymous shops, pick a photogenic world destination or a fun theme, add plenty of romantic photo opportunities, plus a couple of attractions and entertainment venues, and there you have it =)

The Venezia features quite a few attractions like mini zoo, 3D museums, upside down house and manyyy more attractions. Luckily it was weekday so the visitors volume was not that optimum. Additional fee is charged for the other entrance fee or buy the whole package to enter all. This could actually be a potential place but sadly many retail/dining outlets and attractions are firmly closed down possibly due to low visitors. We reached there around 1pm and it took us about one hour plus to use the package that we choose even that we ended up not using all of the categories that we choose. This would have become one of the hottest dating spot if it's in Malaysia. Hmm...

Blessed to have a good weather

This place is artificial Venice and I love the architecture but we hadn't had time to explore more because we're heading to next destination --- Swiss Sheep Farm. *p/s: This day was relatively stressful as we knew we have a tight schedule that we have planned to conquer =D

Le trip to Kundasang

I planned a short getaway to Kundasang and decided to stay in Mesilau as I have never stayed there before. Here I would like to share with you guys some tips and information. There are few options depending on your convenience to go Kundasang. Either self drive or rent a car. The rental cost ranging from RM 150.00 - RM 250.00 daily depending on the type of car you rent. As we're 7 people, so we rent a Hiance to go Kundasang. After 2 and half hour drive from KK, we reach Kundasang!!! YAY!!!!!

Mesilau Loziah homestay surrounded by plants and flowers is our accommodation for 1 nights. Just a short 3 min drive away from Desa Dairy Farm. It is a good alternative to those who would not want to splurge in their accommodation. Loziah homestay costs RM 200.00 per day. Fully furnished with 2 bathroom with water heaters, 1 kitchen (with basic facilities), 2 bedroom, living room with NJOI Astro, balcony with gas BBQ facilities and outdoor seating. The homestay was spacious with old style furniture. ( ps : the owners are vvv nice and helpful. ) Remember to bring thick clothes and socks if u intend to spend the night in Mesilau. Temperature here ranges from 13°C to 16°C at night.

It really feels good to have steamboat ( hotpot with a divider so we have two different soup bases =D ) on a cool windy night!!! 

We went to visit the Desa Dairy Farm on second day. The farm is located just in front of the magnificient view of Kinabalu Mountain. We paid RM 5.00 for each person at the entrance and drove a few more minutes until we reached the farm which is a cattle farm with a concept somewhat like can be found in New Zealand. If you have ever wondered how milk is made, Desa Dairy Farm is the place for you =)

Calves feeding time!!! There’s cows and goats in the calves section. You can buy grass ( RM1.00 per bunch ) or milk ( RM1.50 per bottle ) and experience feeding the calf on your own.

Dairy products such as fresh dairy or choc milk are the main products on sale. To anyone having their holiday up at Kundasang must make a pit stop at Desa Dairy Farm and order the Gelato Ice Cream! ( RM 5.30 per scoop ). I chose yoghurt flavor and it was nice!

Wefie before leaving Kundasang! Fingers crossed for good weather lol. My holidays ended perfectly although only managed to spend a night out from the city. Kundasang is one of the recommended places to visit for nature lovers. ( p/s : if you are planning a visit during these times, be prepared to face heavy traffics and do book in advance as accommodation in almost all lodgings would be full especially during weekends and public holiday. )

Le trip to Pearl of Borneo

Labuan is often referred to as the pearl of Borneo. Apparently it’s not part of either Sarawak or Sabah, but it’s the federal territory in East Malaysia. The capital for Labuan is called Victoria. When you make a trip to Labuan, make sure you don't expect too much. It's NOT the most happening of places to visit.

There are 3 ways to go to Labuan from KK :

• by air from KK ( Malaysia Airlines)
• by ferry from KK jetty
• by speed boat or ferry from Menumbok

You can bring back more liquor if you taking ferry back because the custom in terminal is not as strict as at speedboat and flight. This is my 5th time to Labuan and we decided to drive to Menumbok and take a ferry to Labuan. Driving from KK to Menumbok in the morning was smooth because no traffic jam. It only took us about 2 hours to reach Menumbok ferry terminal. We arrived early around 830am and the ferry was scheduled to leave only at 1030am. The drive from ferry terminal to the KL hotel where we stayed is strategically in town and just took us 4 minutes to arrive. After checking into the hotel and rest about an hour, 5 of us went out directly according to our planned schedule. We didn't visit any historical place and tourist attractions like Bird Park or The Chimney but its okay. I don't have the urge either because our main point of coming here was to buy duty free products!! =D

Chocolate and liquor is cheaper in Labuan compared to KK. A box ( 10pack ) of Kinder Bueno @ RM 23.00, a pack ( 340g ) of Kisses chocolate @ RM 17.50, a box ( 30pcs ) of Ferrero Rocher @ RM 28.50, 5 litre Peter Vella @ RM 48.00 and 1 litre Martel @ RM 160.00 and the beer is the almost the same price with soft drink RM2.50 per can. You can find all sort of liquor brand and chocolate in some of the huge stores. All of us mostly bought our chocs at Sky Park. But then we found out the cheapest can be found in Moneygain. We spent RM108.00 with the following dishes as our dinner at Fisherman's Wharf. The location is in the middle of Labuan town. Be sure to book a table in advance as this place can be quite packed especially in weekends.

Food wasn't bad but comes in vv small portion.

After having a good night sleep, we started day 2 of our Labuan trip with a renewed dose of enthusiasm XD Breakfast is called ''the most important meal of the day'' so we took our breakfast at so called ''famous'' kopitiam → Kedai Kopi Double Three. Have to make sure the stall isn't too busy, the noodles takes a relatively long time to be ready. We waited approximately 25 minutes for our food =.=

Kon lo mee ( dry noodles ) @ RM5 per bowl. Taste was ordinary only.

Roughly about 1pm, our tummy was crawling for hunger. We rounded the town and ended up having KFC at the Financial Park, the one & only shopping complex at Labuan. After meal, we walked around at the Mall. The financial park has 2 big liquor/chocolate shop. The one at the entrance ( Sky Park ) has more but most of their chocs are almost close to expiry so you'd gotta be careful when buying. The shop in the complex ( Moneygain ) has lil variety of chocs to buy but has a later expiry. Don't expect much out of this complex as there are hardly anything there.

That's what I have bought =D except the Godiva =P

Only some of the choc are mine XD some exclusively bought for mom, boyfie and workmate.

So here is the end of my Labuan Trip. These are what I concluded in my visit ↓ 

1. Only one shopping complex here, which is Financial Park shopping complex. 
2. Hotels are everywhere in the town.
3. Rarely see stray cats/dogs.
4. Many shops are closed down at 7pm+ There isn't any ''night life'' in Labuan unless you're a party goer XD 
5. Shopping is limited unless you want duty free drink or tobacco. Of course there are plenty shops for everything but you have to live here longer to find them. XD
