Review: dog grooming clipper from Shopee

Malaysia started enforcing the MCO ( movement contro order ) on 18/03/2020, only selected sectors/industries that were deemed essential for the country can operate =( Pet shops are not classified as essential businesses, that's why they are closed during the MCO, but during the 2nd phase of the MCO, pet shop is allowed to open but limited opening hours and only twice per week. My dog Meng Char has a long coat that tangles easily, and it's time for her to get a full grooming. But unfortunately the number of available slot for grooming also very limited =(  I want to try giving her a trim, that's y I bought a clipper from Shopee =D

My ''pink'' parcel arrived today at 7pm. Took a quite long time to arrive but that was due to COVID-19 related delays with the post XD

Review: Bumblebee ( 2018 )

Synopsis outline:

On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.

I'm actually kind of not interested in this movie but I decided to give this a watch because of positive vibes from Facebooker. Although I was doubtful at first whether it'll turn out to be bored or not. But at the end, I left the cinema with a satisfied smiley face lol =D

The film may have less action but it has enough action sequences to keep you on the edge of your seat because there’s a lot of emotional scene. The entire concept of the movie is about Charlie ( 18 y/o  teenager girl ) and her robot ( Bumblebee ) and how she starts to connect with the robot ( Bumblebee ) in a earnest way. It's really heartwarming seeing strong bonding between them. Many critics will say that the story line of the movie very cheesy, but for me I didn't really see any problem with that. 

This is the best transformer series I ever watched and Bumblebee is my best among all transformers. Indeed a perfect mix of classic nostalgic 80's songs and vibes. The ending was great and I absolutely loveee it!

Review: Avengers - Infinity War

I'm not a huge fan of the superhero genre but because of the high rating, I am convinced to watch it. And ... I'm going to keep this review short and snappy. I won't dive into plot detail. To be honest, most of the time I barely knew what was going on?? I was confused in almost every scene and I felt that the characters' capabilities seemed diff from what I saw in earlier movies. Captain America is looking ragged in this film and I barely don't recognized him!!!

Thanos is the most powerful villain!

Don't listen to anyone who says this movie has no plot. There have been numbers of marvel movies leading up to Infinity War.

This movie is full of emotions, ups & downs...defeat & death...

There are a ridiculous number of characters in this film X___X

It was an intense movie and I can see a lot of people complaining it because of the ending. Btw no one left the cinema immediately after the end of the movie. All waiting for the post-credit scene =D *P/S: The post credit scene will make you so much more excited in the NEXT SERIES!

Overall, I do have a good time when I watch the film. For those who hasn't watch it yet, whether you're a Marvel fan or not, if you know what has been going on in the previous Marvel movies, go and watch it! Avengers: Infinity War really worth watching =)

Monthsary ♥ din din

It is our 23rd monthsary ♥ We went to Pang's cafe located in Gaya street last night for our monthsary celebration.

There is nothing fancy about this restaurant but the atmosphere was nice and relaxed. One of the few restaurants where I can say that the staff is most pleasant and courteous =)

Usually I wouldn't bother to write a review for a place we have only visited once and had only one plate of food but this cafe deserved a plaudit! The spaghetti carbonara is da best we've ever had, creamy but not greasy. It's fattening but who cares when it tastes good? =P

Loved the lamb, can't get the craving out of my mouth *drooling* And the fries!!!! The best I've ever eaten !!!! This was definitely a satisfying meal. We ♥ it not just because the food was good and reasonably priced, but also because of the ambiance, which is family-friendly and welcoming ♥

Review: Kong: Skull Island

Plot:

The film is set in 1973 when William Randa (John Goodman), informs the government that they have detected a previously unknown island and need to investigate it. William recruits a team and asks for a military escort. The characters could have been better for sure XD In addition to Kong, there's other creatures like Skull crawlers, pterosaur and giant spider. Speaking of action scenes, I think it's way much better then Godzilla. The graphic design is so authentic and extraordinary. The actors in this film were great especially John C. Reilly's character. I like his portrayal of his character and how his personal storyline progressed =)

The film was a great roller-coaster ride and had me on the edge of my seat pretty much the entire time that I was watching it. I truly vvv entertained with this film. Probably this is the best monster movie I've seen it in years. Go feast your eyes on this flick guys!

One last thing, stay until the end of credits sequence! Everyone left the theater except me and boyfie =P ( hint: I can't wait for 2020's epic clash, Godzilla vs. Kong )

Bangkok - The Thrill Journey

Here's an update on my 6D5N ( 28/12/16-02/01/2017 ) vacation with boyfie to Bangkok, Thailand. It was my 1st time going there and at the same time It was our first couple vacation  to overseas. *P/s: Bring at least RM 3000/each person ( 24000baht ) for a 6D5N vacation, and some spare cash just in case you need more money.

There is always plenty to do at KLIA but I rather freshen up at Starbucks while waiting for the connecting flight to Bangkok. Seriously I love traveling but I hate the transit portion of the journey. *p/s: There's no direct flights from Kota Kinabalu to Bangkok.

Snack is a must whenever I go on a trip. *p/s: The guy next to me on the plane is like 40+ and eating a lollipop. Yes, feed the child inside you sir lol. So anyways, yeah, the Calbee honey butter chips tastes sooo good! This is vvv addictive! No wonder so many people get all crazy about it, even some Korean celebrities posing with the chips in selfies.

冲上云霄la!!!! The first thing we did when we landed was to purchase a local sim card so that we could have portable wifi. The cost is about 299baht for 7 days of unlimited data. The cab ride from Don Muang Airport to our accomadation was 1200baht which was way over our budget to spend on the first day >,<

Finally reached the hotel ( Best Western Premier Sukhumvit ) around 10pm+, tiredness has destroyed me today. Thailand is an hour later than Malaysian time and it felt as we had an extra hour in a day. We booked our accommodation through booking.com Best Western Premier Sukhumvit is located in the heart of the city on Sukhumvit 1. ( right next to a large private hospital ) The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The room is smoke-free and features a 40'' flat-screen cable/satellite TV with a DVD player, an iPod docking station and a seating area. It comes with a minibar, a safety deposit box and a tea/coffee maker. A bathrobe and a hairdryer are included in a private bathroom. Overall the room are spacious and well designed. *p/s: The room service vv consistent =)

I always note down on travel map so I can keep track of my hotel and place I wanted to visit all in one easily accessible spot. In this way I can see where everything is, see what places are close to each other and have directions =D I prefer this method ( paper map ) rather than google map. 

The thrill of the journey!!! If you ever wanted to experience the thrill of dying, just ride a tuk tuk in moderate to heavy traffic *p/s: BEWARE OF THE BAG SNATCHERS!!!. We nearly got robbed!!! As the tuk-tuk slowed down near the traffic light, a motorcyclist sped past the vehicle and trying to snatch my boyfie's pouch. We immediately grabbed the pouch and struggled with the bag snatcher. Fortunately, their mission failed!!! I've only had twice tuk-tuk ride ever and that's more than enough!!! My advice is better stick to metered taxis or sky train. For short journeys 1-5km the price range is between 80-150baht. *p/s: tuk-tuk will rip you off and charge 100-200baht even for the shortest journey!!

Review : Inferno

I've just watched ''Inferno'' at City Mall and I never thought that this movie would be sooooo nice!!!! Idk why did the movie get so many negative reviews? It's a radically enjoyable thriller ar~ Well, Inferno is a 2013 mystery thriller novel by American author Dan Brown ( Err tbh I have never read his novel ). The movie's start is vv confusing me, where Professor Langdon ( character ) wakes up in a hospital with no idea how he came to be there, team up with Dr. Sienna Brooks to recover his memories. Among Langdon's belongings, Langdon and Sienna find a faraday pointer, which projects an image of the hell ( Dante's nine circles ). This is the first clue Langdon needs to decode and find the hidden message. Nah I'm a biggg fan ♥ of puzzle solving movies that can keep my eyes glued till the end and guess the hidden message of the movies.

This movie runs quite interesting until Sienna Brooks is revealing the true intentions. Watch the movie to figure WHY ^^ Apparently the story has a lot of intrigue, the visual effects of Dante's hell was amazing too. This movie has its own twists and deserves to be seen IF you are interested. =)

Here are the result once I put it on my lips. I feel fun and energetic in my pink matte lipstick lol. I'm not adventurous enough to try out the deep/bright color lipstick and I used to think that pinkish lipstick aren't suit for me because of the the color might clashes with my skin tone but this semi matte bold pink lipstick works well with my skin complexion. Hmm...the color very matte but not drying, it lasted on my lips for hours ( This is my favorite part ). Review : Train to Busan

Actually I don't like Korean movies but since everyone is posting on Facebook about how heartfelt the ending is and even people who don't usually like thriler/zombie movies seem to like this movie. So ... I decided to watch it. The theater was vvv crowded. Luckily we were warned of the long lines and boyfie bought the tickets online. Most of the seats were already occupied. >_<

The movie starts with a father, Seok Woo, he is bringing his daughter Su An to visit his ex wife who lives in the port city of Busan by train. Before the train leaves Seoul station, a girl infected with a horrific virus jumps onto the train. She became frantic and began biting into the flesh of the passengers on train. So the story is about a couple of passengers struggle to survive on the train from Seoul to Busan. The movie shows how selfish a human can be. Not denying the fact that nowadays human beings have gotten more selfish... =( 

Sang Hwa looked kind of badass and uncouth man but he's actually an uxorious and kindhearted man. He fights to protect his pregnant wife, Sung Kyung. However, he sacrificed himself to hold the door while others escape to safety. 

Kim Eui Sung starred as the selfish transportation executive named Yong Suk. Everyone made sacrifices and died because of his selfishness.

The heartbreaking part is when Seok Woo tells Sung Kyung and Su An how to stop the engine at the end of the track as he sacrifices himself before he is transformed. This scene is definitely had us bawling inside the cinema.

The movie is more like the ups and downs of a roller coaster from beginning to end. But I think the story is progressing too fast and the ending seems incomplete. They should explain more about the infection. If you like zombie film don't miss this great movie. To those who haven't watched Train to Busan may judge the movie just a typical zombie film, BUT it is the story of relationships and interactions that rises above the horrific carnage. *P/S : Just make sure you bring a lot of tissue.

女主角杨子姗饰演的妓女虽然颇具风尘，但不失那份清纯。一开始高野是不爱茉茉的，可是剧情的最后他却爱上这个为了他义无反顾的女人。其实从《重返20岁》就开始关注她了。从《重返20岁》到这部《天亮之前》，喜欢杨子珊是因为她演技好好，戏中情感拿捏的非常到位。这部电影其中一句虐心台词是杨子姗那句“那个晚上对于你来说，也许只是一个晚上，但对于我来说它却是一辈子。” 成长的过程必然会让人经历挫折，只是每个人的挫折有大有小，所以无论什么样的人生打击只要活着就有希望。《天亮之前》是一部值得一看的电影，尤其是最后的反转，那种环环相扣的感觉加分不少。它不仅充满惊喜，也无比感动。

Review : Suicide Squad

Watched the movie at Suria yesterday. It was my first time watching a movie in d-box ( incredibly expensive =.= ) It's basically a vibrating chair in the cinema that moves according to the movie. hehe. I'm not sure why many critics said the movie was so "terrible". I'm not a comic book fan and I'm not familiar with the characters from the comic book but I personally think Suicide Squad is gooooood for many reasons.

The first one is Boomerang, the second is Harley Quinn, she is Joker's insane partner in crime. The third from is Deadshot,  a sniper that never miss a single shot. The middle one is Katana, she's the protector of Rick Flagg. The rough monster is Killer Croc and the last one is Diablo, the master of flames. Diablo's full powers were very awesome at the end. There are back stories for every character but didn't' felt much. The team of criminals led by Rick Flagg are assembled and forced to help a special teams unit as in Escape From New York. They must enter the city and retrieve someone important, but the Joker is tracking their movements as he tries to take Harley back.

The witch-goddess, Enchantress and her brother motive just like X-men Apocalypse. They want  to destroy the earth. Enchantress has the power of persuasion to make people do whatever she wants.

The characters were good although some don't get enough screen time. Harley Quinn was the best role in the movie, I doesn't like Katana, she is probably the worst out of all the characters. ( just my opinion).

Joker: “Do not say this oath thoughtlessly. Desire becomes surrender. Surrender becomes power. Do you want it? Do you really want it?”
Harley: “I do. I do.”
Joker: “Then goodbye, Doctor Quinzel.”

Joker gestures towards the edge of the vat. Without hesitation she jumps. Joker thinks “She’s gone and problem solved.” He walks away and suddenly he feels something...Love. The relationship between Joker and Harley was always complicated. Joker is abusive and manipulative towards Harley but he did feel affection for Harley. Harley and Joker should have their own movie!! Hopefully an extended version boosts this up, because I was absolutely thrilled by every sequence with Joker & Harley Quinn ♥

This movie had some more comedy and at the same time dark so it melded vv well. Overall, the movie was great, the action scenes and soundtrack was awesome. It was more enjoyable than Batman V Superman. Oopss!*

Lights Out #Don'tBeAfraidOfTheDark

A creature that only appears when the lights go out...

Valak is out, and now it's Diana! LOL ''Lights Out'' is a horror film that is based on a 3 minute 2013 short film and both were directed by David F. Sandberg. Produced by the the one who is the big name in horror industry right now, James Wan. The movie is pretty much like ''Babadook'' in which the storylines is between monstrosity and mental illness. If you seen the trailer, then you get the tone of the movie. It's rated "PG-13" for terror, violence, disturbing images and drug content and has a running time of 1 hour & 21 minutes. Some scenes are too scary. Just push back your seat and ready to get frightened when lights went out. XD

Synopsis:

When Rebecca left home, she thought she left her childhood fears behind. Growing up, she was never really sure of what was and wasn't real when the lights went out...and now her little brother, Martin, is experiencing the same unexplained and terrifying events that had once tested her sanity and threatened her safety. A frightening entity with a mysterious attachment to their mother, Sophie, has reemerged. But this time, as Rebecca gets closer to unlocking the truth, there is no denying that all their lives are in danger...once the lights go out.

Some of their backstories are kind of told, but kinda rushed and forced in in some cases. Speaking of Diana, she is creepy tho but the movie didn't have the creative twists that I enjoyed from movies like ''Insidious'', ''Case 39'' and ''The Conjuring''. I'm a huge horror buff and fairly difficult person to frighten because I have been watching scary movies for years. So this movie not as good as I expected but overall it was ok. Would rate it 3 out of 5 stars =)

#P/s: You may want to leave the lights on after watching the “Lights Out” movie =P

I got my first gel manicure today and I'm pretty pleased with the result. This is definitely the best manicure I've ever gotten. Although their prices are slightly higher than the average price but worth to pay!

Overall 5 stars for the service, cleanliness, environment and results.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for pedicure/manicure and an outstanding relaxing spa experience. I really appreciated the quality, the friendly staff, and the nice facility. I'll be sure to come back for more pampering! =D

Me Before You

Just watched this with boyfie yesterday. This is a story people from diff backgrounds who meet each other by chance, and change each others lives forever...

Lou is a silly, charming girl with a sense of humor and fantastic imagination from a small town. Will has a wonderful life, he go wherever he wants and do whatever he desires. But...that was before the accident happens... Lou loses her job at The Buttered Bun tea shop. She goes to the job center and got offered as a caretaker of a paralyzed man ( Will ) after several failed attempts. There is no love at first sight when they met. Lou plans out a marvelous series of events in order to make his life better. Louisa discovered that Will has given his parents 6months and they must bring him to Switzerland for euthanasia. Lou wants to change his mind and prove to Will that his life is worth living. But for Will, death is preferable to a paralyzed life because he cannot deal with the pain and suffering of his disability. The movie ends with Lou reading Will's last words in a letter, that tell her to 'live well'.at a cafe in Paris after Will's death. Totally sobbed at the end...

I really loved this movie and characters a lot especially Lou. I loved watching both of them change and grow as they learned to appreciate. This movie revealed love but also the harsh reality of life. Heartbreaking, yet inspiring. ♥

Warcraft : The Beginning

So I watched Warcraft ( the movie was based on the video game ). I never played WoW ( World of Warcraft ) and I had no expectations on the movie but I have to say the movie was entertaining! The visual effects were vv good. ( Some visuals were too strong for children ). The film begins with an Orc warrior ( Durotan ), his pregnant wife ( Draka ) and their clan leaving their perishing world by passing thru a portal. On the other side is Azeroth. The world of Azeroth lead by humans and it is the birthplace of many races, humans, hobbits, elves...etc. They attack the humans once they arrived...Want to know more? There's a vague love story between Lothar and Garona that just feels rushed and pointless.  For those who have yet to watch the movie, don't pay attention to the critics, try to watch some of the Warcraft trailer videos, as you make sense of the story you might enjoy the movie more! It might feel like Lord of the Ring to some sense but definitely worth to watch =)
