Pokémon Go? GO!!!!

At first I was wonder why everyone is obsessing over the Pokémon Go? My Facebook are flooded with Pokémon posts on the day the app officially launched in Malaysia. I only recognize Pikachu and I really really don't even know other characters from the series. I thought Pikachu is youngster and Pokémon is adult, so what set in my mind is Pikachu = Pokémon, Pokémon = Pikachu *face palm* I know I sound unbelievably but I've never watched it. My boyfie is obsessed with the game and half of my Facebook friends share their excitement about catching Pokémon. I had a dream about catching Pokémon so... I BROKE DOWN and downloaded the game lol. I caught my first Pokémon on Pokémon Go and it is Bulbasaur. The game is...kind of interesting but draining toooo much battery on my phone.

It's my 3rd day playing Pokémon Go, and now I'm officially get all the uproar about the game, I'm so addicted it's unreal! Boyfie and I walked all the way from KK high court to Gaya street pokestop for lure module. Well, great way to farm ''XP'' if you're looking to catch lots of Pokémon in a short period of time =) ( P/S: If you want to catch a lot of Pokémon, you want to be in a place with Pokestop ) The ultimate trend on the perfect date with boyfie is "going to catch Pokémon together". Pokémon Go hasn't even been out for a week, and the app has already gotten me crazy XD Based on my research, you can find commonly type Pokémon ( Magickarp, Psyduck, Venonat) at Kepayan 88, water type Pokémon ( Kabutops, Omanyte, Dratini, Seel ) at Teluk Dumpil Meruntum, uncommonly type Pokémon ( Gastly, Machoke, Pikachu, Geodude, Magneton ) at KKIA, Venusaur, Starmie, Sandshrew at Foh Sang, Tangela, Slowbro at Lintas Plaza, rare type Pokémon ( Rhyhorn, Scyther, Beedrill ) at Jalan Kobusak, Nidorino, Eevee, Spearow...etc at Gaya street.

Le trip to Kundasang

I planned a short getaway to Kundasang and decided to stay in Mesilau as I have never stayed there before. Here I would like to share with you guys some tips and information. There are few options depending on your convenience to go Kundasang. Either self drive or rent a car. The rental cost ranging from RM 150.00 - RM 250.00 daily depending on the type of car you rent. As we're 7 people, so we rent a Hiance to go Kundasang. After 2 and half hour drive from KK, we reach Kundasang!!! YAY!!!!!

Mesilau Loziah homestay surrounded by plants and flowers is our accommodation for 1 nights. Just a short 3 min drive away from Desa Dairy Farm. It is a good alternative to those who would not want to splurge in their accommodation. Loziah homestay costs RM 200.00 per day. Fully furnished with 2 bathroom with water heaters, 1 kitchen (with basic facilities), 2 bedroom, living room with NJOI Astro, balcony with gas BBQ facilities and outdoor seating. The homestay was spacious with old style furniture. ( ps : the owners are vvv nice and helpful. ) Remember to bring thick clothes and socks if u intend to spend the night in Mesilau. Temperature here ranges from 13°C to 16°C at night.

It really feels good to have steamboat ( hotpot with a divider so we have two different soup bases =D ) on a cool windy night!!! 

We went to visit the Desa Dairy Farm on second day. The farm is located just in front of the magnificient view of Kinabalu Mountain. We paid RM 5.00 for each person at the entrance and drove a few more minutes until we reached the farm which is a cattle farm with a concept somewhat like can be found in New Zealand. If you have ever wondered how milk is made, Desa Dairy Farm is the place for you =)

Calves feeding time!!! There’s cows and goats in the calves section. You can buy grass ( RM1.00 per bunch ) or milk ( RM1.50 per bottle ) and experience feeding the calf on your own.

Dairy products such as fresh dairy or choc milk are the main products on sale. To anyone having their holiday up at Kundasang must make a pit stop at Desa Dairy Farm and order the Gelato Ice Cream! ( RM 5.30 per scoop ). I chose yoghurt flavor and it was nice!

Wefie before leaving Kundasang! Fingers crossed for good weather lol. My holidays ended perfectly although only managed to spend a night out from the city. Kundasang is one of the recommended places to visit for nature lovers. ( p/s : if you are planning a visit during these times, be prepared to face heavy traffics and do book in advance as accommodation in almost all lodgings would be full especially during weekends and public holiday. )

I got my first gel manicure today and I'm pretty pleased with the result. This is definitely the best manicure I've ever gotten. Although their prices are slightly higher than the average price but worth to pay!

- The customer service was the best I've ever experienced at a nail salon. The manicurist who did my nails was so friendly. They even provide tea and pamper you with warm towel. They are so meticulous and make sure that you are satisfied before you leave. 

Quality : ★★★★★

- Brand name polishes such as O.P.I, Etude House, BANDI...etc

Overall 5 stars for the service, cleanliness, environment and results.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for pedicure/manicure and an outstanding relaxing spa experience. I really appreciated the quality, the friendly staff, and the nice facility. I'll be sure to come back for more pampering! =D

PS : call ahead of time for reservations as they always seem to be packed on the weekends. =)

Bazaar Ramadhan

It's month of Ramadhan and the bazaars are back in town! Muslims view it as the holy month. The prayer and fasting become the focus of their everyday lives for an entire month. Every year I looking forward to Ramadhan because of the bazaar!  Foods and drinks from diff states in Malaysia can be easily found in all Bazaar Ramadhan. Lemang rendang always one of the food that comes into mind when it comes to Bazaar Ramadhan. Oh ya be prepare for a bigger crowd if you go to Bazaar at 5pm+ as it gets really busy. There are quite a few Ramadan bazaars in KK but the one bazaar which is quite popular is at Lok Kawi military camp. My first impression of bazaar Ramadhan at Lokkawi military camp is too cluttered and too crowded. However, do beware of snatch thieves as it's too crowded.

Pacific Sutera : Relaxing and fun holiday staycation

If you want to get out of the house but don’t want to go thru the hassles of driving several hours or if you feel like you deserve a vacation but can’t afford to skip town entirely. The answer is STAYCATION! I've always thought that staying at a local hotel for a night/a couple of night is a good idea for a staycation. =)

My boyfie and I were staying here for 1 night during Kaamatan. This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. We were upgraded from a deluxe golf view to deluxe sea view upon check in. The rooms has a breathtaking view of marine blue of the south China sea and we can see neighboring islands. The bathroom was spacious and has a separate bathtub and shower. Best feature is the breakfast with all kinds of western, Malaysian, and Chinese food but some guest had to wait for tables and it can be a bit crowded. Kota Kinabalu is famous for their exquisite sunsets. The sunset view from here quite spectacular. You can order some drinks from the outdoor bar and enjoy the stunning view. Here are some pictures which I taken. Overall our stay was wonderful and relaxing. I would love to come back and stay there again.

Weekend getaway : Kokol Haven

Went there in the evening with boyfie for a sunset view of Kota Kinabalu on Sunday. This is my second visit =P 30 minutes drive from Kota Kinabalu and the resort is situated on top of a hill. There is only one road to go in and out. Entrance coupon is RM10 for each person. This entrance coupon can be redeemed with drinks.

Kota Kinabalu's city can be seen clearly from up here. The view is undeniably stunning and breathtaking. Although the weather was not very good on that day but we manage to catch the sunset view. It was indescribable when the sun goes down and the Kota Kinabalu's city street lights started on. Highly recommended for those people who wants to find peace and calmness. 

  

Here you can just go and have a cup of coffee or a cold beverage with a spectacular view of Kota Kinabalu. The open-air cafe with the fantastic views offering local and western cuisine. ( ps : the cafe gets crowded when the sun goes down ) The cafe now serving Kaamatan special. ''Tuhau'' ( local ethnic delicacy ) pizza. RM 16.00 ( small ) and RM 26.00 ( big ). But we didn't order because I don't like the smell so we ended up ordering thin crust Hawaiian pizza. The pizza was unexpectedly cheesy and delish!! yum yum!

Spotted rainbow!! the clouds broke away and revealed a beautiful rainbow. The rain washed away all the dust and created beautiful raindrops on the flowers.

Fresh air, greens everywhere. There is not much to do apart from enjoying the pure air and watching the clouds drift in and drift out.

Dating monthsary celebration - Buffet dinner @ Le Meridien Hotel

Throwback to Monday night, a great night indeed! We celebrated our monthsary on 02.05 and coincidentally it falls on the holiday. We decided to have our monthsary buffet dinner at Le Meridien. So this post is gonna be a combination about our monthsary dinner and recommendation I would like to make for the food ♥ If you expecting some Malay, Indian, Chinese, Japanese and Western cuisine then you can get it all here. I like the atmosphere, so peaceful and quiet. The restaurant interior was grand and classy too. The bar serves variety type of lettuces where you can make your own salad with freshly chopped condiments. They also have salad that's well prepared. On the other side of the salad bar have raw salmon, slices of beef...etc. The crab, mussels, prawns are presented on a bed of cracked ice. They serves local food like nasi briyani and something else which I couldn't recall. 

        

The plate of food which I will always go for whenever I go for international buffets. Took some cooked cod meat, baked potatoes and prawns. They were all very freshly cooked.

I always gravitate toward the cheese. The cheese station serves various sorts of cheese like Emmental cheese ( medium-hard Swiss cheese ), Edam cheese ( semi-hard cheese that originated in the Netherlands ), Cheddar cheese...etc. The most anticipated part for me would be desserts! No buffet is complete without the desserts =D But unfortunately over here the choices are limited. They have selection of coconut puddings, red velvet cakes, choco tart, caramel crimble tart...etc. Had a hard time deciding what to get as I was quite full by then. The taste just fine. 

And we end off with a tempting ice cream. I picked chocolate, yam and strawberry with raspberry syrup and choco rice as topping.

The food quality was not too bad actually. However the food choices were quite limited. I felt that it was a bit expensive in terms of food wise but if you love to seek new experience, this place could be the great choice for you! thumbs up for their service as they were really courteous, attentive and cleared our plate quickly.

One of the things I love doing for my blog aside from food sharing is writing about hotel staycation. =P I welcomed my month with a weekend staycation at Soluxe Hotel. It was a perfect time for us to get a vv short getaway ( still in the city tho ) since we needed a break from hectic work schedule. Soluxe Hotel is a hotel chain from China, new launched in April 2015. I stayed here because of the nice swimming pool picture I've seen on booking.com. If you have been a long time reader, you would know how enthusiastic I am especially when it comes to sharing some great experience about my ''lil adventures''. The staff was helpful and friendly but not very efficient. Check in was slow even though I was the only one in line. We were given a low floor ( despite requesting a high floor facing the pool ). I tot that perhaps noise might intrude being on a low floor but not at all. Btw our room was located on the 4th floor, the superior deluxe room is vv nice and the king bed is vv comfortable. The room conveniently equipped with mini fridge, electric kettle, hair dryer, bathrobes, toiletries...etc. The décor is both modern and elegant with dark woods.

Swimming pool is located in the middle of the hotel with all 4 blocks surrounding it. The pool vv impressive. Not deep but long enuf =D For me its such a worth for money to staying at this hotel. cheapest rate with good accommodation. Breakfast was buffet style but we were a bit dissapointed because the choice was limited. After breakfast, I went back to the room and napped till it was time to check-out. *I typically ( not frequently ) take a nap right after meal.* Highly recommend if you're looking for a lil more modern and 4-star rating with budget consideration.

So my boyfie and I made plans for yesterday and I'm glad everything goes well! Firstly, we headed to Paper Boat for dinner at Hiltop. Secondly, headed off to 下火堂 at Warisan Square for dessert after dinner. I love eating and a passion to share those wonderful foods that I have found =D

This place comes highly recommended. The ambiance is pretty good but the place is crowded XD

Laksa ( garnished with prawn, sliced pork, braised egg, mint leaves, fried lard, crunchy spring rolls...etc ) The soup was mildly spicy and tasty but not as flavorful as I expected. #PS : Skip it if you're on diet lol

There's a choice of either soup or dry. I ordered what seemed to be the most popular choice - prawn noodle soup! ( choices of diff type of noodles are available ) I had the mixed version with prawns and roasted pork. The soup is thick and slightly salty but overall ok #PS : Want it more spicy? Add on ur chilly paste!

I was a little worried about the fit since I'm unsure about the exact size of my neck but it fits perfectly. The choker is super comfortable and vv sweet looking. It doesn't irritate my skin at all.

You may be looking for some laid-back and affordable dining place that suitable for bunch of people. Nah if you are a seafood lover and don’t mind getting your hands dirty, Two Wheel Spa Cafe is the place to dine at with your family or a group of friend. The cafe located at the Cyber Perdana Kepayan ( opposite to the Mekar Store ). The fun about dining here is you get to eat directly from the table with your bare hands. While you might instinctively give this place a wide berth and yea...the environment looks dusky but the food is awesome and the portions is bountiful!!

Everything was delicious, especially the squid in soy sauce with dried chillies. sweet and succulent! It was a great night filled with joys and massive amounts of seafood. I will definitely come back and get my hands dirty for the yummylicious dishes ♥

Sakagura @ Oceanus Mall

Me & boyfie had our dinner at Sakagura last night. The restaurant is located on ground floor of Oceanus Mall, right beside the Hard Rock shop. Sakagura was small but the atmosphere is so pleasant and cozy but the pricing is considered expensive by local standards because most of the food is sourced and imported from Japan. I vvv love Japanese cuisine because Japanese cooking is usually healthy, tasty, fresh, and well portioned.

Itadakimasu!!!!! Quoil egg wrapped with beef bacon in teriyaki sauce, teriyaki chicken and egg rice bowl, fried garlic rice!!
